Family Fun

Written By: Steph - Mar• 24•12

A few weekends ago Jeff finally had some time off of work so we went bowling as a family.  Brit was super excited.  We played for 2 hours and Brit held up very well for such a late night.  I did alright for being pregnant and it was fun to get out.  I did forget the camera so the pictures aren’t great but at least I have some :)

Since bowling Jeff has been really busy with work that we have just stayed home.  We have has lots of snow even into March which is very strange but it hasn’t stuck around for long.

The other day I was very emotional and crying and, cute little girl as she is, came to me and said “calm down, mom, calm down” and then proceeded to give me a hug.  It was really funny and made me laugh.

Yesterday we went to the park and fed the ducks.  Britley had so much fun and thought it was cool.  Even Boo wanted to jump in with the ducks.  The funny part was we were walking on really wet grass down a hill and Jeff slipped and was sliding down the hill.  It was scary but funny all at once.  He didn’t get injured but was extremely muddy.  I didn’t know what to do but watch him slide.

Jeff has been playing church basketball for a little while and they have done really well.  He really enjoyed it but the season is over and now they are moving to a different sport.  We will see if it is something Jeff wants to play :)

Sewing Fun

I think we are finally getting over all the cold’s and flu’s we have had the last several months.  I hope they don’t come back.  On Saturday night I made some new skirts for Britley.  She loves them and looks so cute it them.

We got snow yesterday so church got cancelled halfway through it so everyone could get home safe.  Since we had a little extra time we cleaned up the downstairs really good to try and get rid of all germs that we have felt infested with.  It looks beautiful and I just have to finish washing everything.

Today we had some friends over for blueberry pancakes and it was nice to have someone else to talk to than a 2 year old.  Britley always loves when her friend Rylee comes over but she needs to learn to share with Rylee.  Thanks for coming over Natalie and kids :)

I am addicted to pinterest and Jeff makes fun of me.  I love the ideas it has for everything and its a nice bookmarker for all the cool things I find on the web.  If you aren’t on it, you should check it out.

Year too long

Written By: Steph - Feb• 24•12

Well, it has been over a year since I have posted here.  I can’t believe I went that long, I guess I was so busy.  I am going to get better because I want my kids to be able to go read all about us and growing up etc so I have no choice.

Here are the updates:

We moved from Lynnwood to Kent this past summer/fall into a house we are renting.  We love the space it gives us to grow and couldn’t rent from better people :)  Brit loves having a backyard to play in and asks to go outside often.  Boo thinks its the best to be able to run around.  We have a fabulous ward and lots of friends in our new area.  We couldn’t ask for anything better.

Our biggest news this year is we are expecting our 2nd daughter.  She is due May 31st.  We are so excited and Brit can’t wait to be a big sister.  She already likes to feel mom’s belly and “wake up” the baby to feel her move.  She even sings to the baby, its so sweet.  I have had a very hard time during this pregnancy with dehydration, painful braxton hicks contractions, extreme colds, and double vision.  Not all these pertain to the pregnancy but they all happened during this pregnancy that it makes it harder to cope when my body is trying to grow a baby.  The baby is very healthy and growing well so we are not worried.  All the sicknesses will soon pass and we can get back to a healthy life.

Jeff is still working on his business and it is growing extremely well.  He is always busy but always makes time for Britley and I.  He is playing basketball at church every Thursday night and is loving it.

Brit is growing like a bean stock.  She is very opinionated and likes to do things herself.  We are in the middle of potty training and she is doing very well.  She has her own potty that sings to her every time she goes.  Hopefully we can get of diapers very soon.  Brit loves playing with friends, coloring, painting, watching movies, playing games on her tablet, going outside and shopping.  She is speaking very well and every day her speech gets better.  We love having her in our lives.

My baby is getting so big. She is now in a toddler bed that she loves. She sleeps very well in it. I am getting sick of the diaper thing so will be potty training soon, good luck to me ;) She has the biggest attitude ever and knows what she wants. She tries to tell us I think but can’t quite say the words. She is so much fun and we love her to death.

December Already

Written By: Steph - Dec• 05•10

I can’t believe its December. I have not been updating as often as I would like but life has been going great. I am enjoying my job at the dance studio, Jeff is working very hard and is busy all the time with his work, and Britley is growing and funnier than ever.

My family came up for Thanksgiving and it was so much fun to see them. Of course, when they came they had to bring the snow with them and Seattle does not do well with snow. On Monday, we all got trapped at our house and even my parents had to spend the night because the roads were not good to drive on. it was fun to have a big slumber party. The rest of the week was good as the snow was slowly melting away. Thanksgiving was awesome at my aunt and uncles house. We had tones of food, played games, and decorated gingerbread houses. On Black Friday Jeff and I got up at 3am and went to target then walmart and then back to bed. It was sad to have my family leave but happy they could come and can’t wait till they come again.

We are excited for this holiday season and hope everyone else has a great holiday season too.

September

Written By: Steph - Sep• 26•10

Wow, I can’t believe September is almost over. A lot has happened since my last post. Our anniversary was on 8/11. We went over to Kingston and had the most incredible crepes. We had a savory one that had ham and cheese and mushrooms on it. It was served on a wheat crepe. This was so good but the best was the dessert crepe. On the menu there was a strawberry and Belgian Dark chocolate so we asked if they would add bananas. I couldn’t stop eating it and wanted another one when it was gone. I craved them so much after that so I decided to recreate the recipe. You can find this on my recipe blog at the link above.

We went to Salt Lake City for 2 weeks for a wedding and Jeff’s work. We got to visit with family and friends and had so much fun. We miss them all.

I now have a job teaching dance and Jeff’s work is getting super busy. He also gets to spend time with Brit in the afternoons while I go to work. He is enjoying this and Brit is having fun being with dad.

Britley is growing so much and has such an ATTITUDE! She get into everything, talks her baby talk all the time, and knows exactly what she wants but has a hard time telling us. She gets so upset when we don’t know what she wants that she throws her body all over hoping we understand :) She is a joy and I still love watching her grow every day.

Mariners

Time for an update

A couple weeks ago we went to my Aunt & Uncles home for dinner with some of their friends.   They served fish that was cooked on cedar wood and alder wood, chicken, potatoes, salad and it was all delicious.  Britley loved everyone and the attention they gave to her.  We all played the wii and even got Jeff & my uncle to play, which was funny to watch :)    It was a blast to hang out with everyone.

Last week, sweet Britley decided to shut her bedroom door and play with her toys.  I could hear her on the monitor so wasn’t concerned.  Then everything was a little too quiet so I went into her room and to my surprise, Britley had found the little jar of vaseline and had smeared it all over her and her toys and the carpet.  It was not fun to clean up but it was funny, at least until it happens again.  When I wanted to take a picture I realized my camera was broken then halfway through cleaning it up I remembered I could take a picture with my phone so this is Britley in the bath after her vaseline incident.

Last night we were able to go to the Mariners Baseball game with my Aunt and Uncle.  It was AWESOME.  It was my first Baseball game and with the Mariners not doing so well, I didn’t know what to expect.  It turned out amazing.  We had great seats, ate really good ballpark food, visit with family, and with Jeff’s luck, the Mariners won the game.  Britley stays at my Aunt and Uncles house with their kids and the babysitter and had fun too.  I always feel better knowing she isn’t crying and is having fun.  We are greatful to the babysitter for watch Britley.

Britley

Britley’s first birthday was so funny.  She got to eat cake and first she picked at it for a second and once she got a taste of the frosting she dug in.  She tried sharing with her cousins, she clapped and make the cake fly everywhere, eventually she put her face in it to eat and then her feet.   She rubbed come of the frosting on the back of her chair and ate the frosting off that too.  it was really funny to watch and now every time she sees cake she wants some.

Britley was so kind to all family and friends back in Utah because she started walking the 3rd day after we moved to Washington.  She loves walking around and is having fun with the freedom.  I will post video soon.

WASHINGTON

Well we finally made it.  After 2 years of wanting to come and a 15 hour drive, we made it.  My kind mother was nice enough to help up move and came with me in the car to help take care of Britley.  Jeff drove the moving van and some how beat us here “by 7 minutes” he says, but keep in mind he got a half hour head start and had to stop less because he didn’t have the baby that needed changed etc.  The drive was actually better than I thought.  I was worried that it would feel like an eternity and that Britley would be screaming and unhappy, it was the complete opposite.  Britley played with toys and ate and slept and was happy most the way.  My mom and I listened to the last book of Twilight on CD the entire way and the drive went fast.

My Aunt and Uncle were so kind to let us stay at their house for a few days while we got the apartment arranged.  We had found a place that looked nice on the web and had everything set up all we had to do was sign a contract but I wanted to see the place first.  When we pulled in to the complex I did not like it.  It reminded me of the Motel 6 right off the freeway in St. George.  I didn’t even want to look in the apartment.  We just got our deposit back and went to another place that we found and loved.

My mom was a big help while she was with us for a week.  She took care of Britley and then helped unload the truck since we could not get help.  She then helped me get all unpacked.  I was so happy with this otherwise I think boxes would have sat unpacked for a long time :)   Thanks so much mom for all your help.

We are close to everything.  The mall is about 5 minutes away, grocery stores all around, 3 Jack in the Box within 10 minutes :) , and we are in a nice quiet neighborhood.

I have to say, has only rained here once since we have been here.  We have been here since July 6th.  The weather is nice and cool in the mornings with some overcast and by lunch time it is sunny with clear skies.  I will let you know how the winter is.

I will post some pictures soon.

Brit’s Easter Pics at 9 months

Written By: Steph - Mar• 25•10

Britley turned 9 months yesterday.  I can’t believe she is growing so fast.  She is army crawling everywhere and moves fast.  She is learning to pull herself up and she will walk if Jeff or I hold her hands.  As long as she is fed she is happy and laughs a lot.  She has discovered her lungs and loves to yell.

She is going through separation anxiety and that is hard when I need to get a babysitter.  But thanks to my mom, she takes care of Britley even when she is crying.

This is a picture I took today and there are a few more in her photo album in our family pics page.
